The Purpose:

We believe that Salvation is initiated by God for His glory, and by the holy counsel of His own will, by His election of those that would be saved before the foundation of the world

"All that the Father gives me will come to me, and whoever comes to me I will never cast out."

-John 6:37

"No one can come to me unless the Father who sent me draws him. And I will raise him up on the last day."

-John 6:44

"And he said, “This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father.” "

-John 6:65

"You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you."

-John 15:16

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good, for those who are called according to his purpose."

-Romans 8:28-29

"though they were not yet born and had done nothing either good or bad—in order that God's purpose of election might continue, not because of works but because of him who calls"

-Romans 9:11

"And when the Gentiles heard this, they began rejoicing and glorifying the word of the Lord, and as many as were appointed to eternal life believed."

-Acts 13:48;

"even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we should be holy and blameless before him. In love he predestined us for adoption as sons through Jesus Christ, according to the purpose of his will, to the praise of his glorious grace, with which he has blessed us in the Beloved. In him we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace, which he lavished upon us, in all wisdom and insight making known to us the mystery of his will, according to his purpose, which he set forth in Christ 10 as a plan for the fullness of time, to unite all things in him, things in heaven and things on earth.

In him we have obtained an inheritance, having been predestined according to the purpose of him who works all things according to the counsel of his will,"

-Ephesians 1:4-11

"according to the foreknowledge of God the Father, in the sanctification of the Spirit, for obedience to Jesus Christ and for sprinkling with his blood:

May grace and peace be multiplied to you."

-1 Pet. 1:2

The Process:

Those whom He has elected or chosen and predestined to be saved, He has done so with foreknowledge (an intimate, pre-existent love), not on account of any foreseen merit in them, but by his sovereign good pleasure

"What shall we say then? Is there injustice on God's part? By no means!  For he says to Moses, “I will have mercy on whom I have mercy, and I will have compassion on whom I have compassion.” So then it depends not on human will or exertion, but on God, who has mercy.  For the Scripture says to Pharaoh, “For this very purpose I have raised you up, that I might show my power in you, and that my name might be proclaimed in all the earth.”  So then he has mercy on whomever he wills, and he hardens whomever he wills.

You will say to me then, “Why does he still find fault? For who can resist his will?”  But who are you, O man, to answer back to God? Will what is molded say to its molder, “Why have you made me like this?” Has the potter no right over the clay, to make out of the same lump one vessel for honorable use and another for dishonorable use? What if God, desiring to show his wrath and to make known his power, has endured with much patience vessels of wrath prepared for destruction, in order to make known the riches of his glory for vessels of mercy, which he has prepared beforehand for glory"

-Romans 9:14-23

"who saved us and called us to a holy calling, not because of our works but because of his own purpose and grace, which he gave us in Christ Jesus before the ages began,"

-2 Timothy 1:9

to conform them to the image of His Son

"And we know that for those who love God all things work together for good,  for those who are called according to his purpose. For those whom he foreknew he also predestined to be conformed to the image of his Son, in order that he might be the firstborn among many brothers.  And those whom he predestined he also called, and those whom he called he also justified, and those whom he justified he also glorified."

-Romans 8:28-30

and to be glorified in their eternal state.

The Promise:

However, salvation is a gift of grace from God, and not of any human effort or works, lest any man should boast

"For by grace you have been saved through faith. And this is not your own doing; it is the gift of God,"

-Ephesians 2:8

As such, it is God who unconditionally grants and preserves the believer’s salvation for eternity, offering assurance and eternal security

"Who shall bring any charge against God's elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised—who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us. Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword?"

-Romans 8:33-35

"No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord."

-Romans 8:37-39

"Now may the God of peace himself sanctify you completely, and may your whole spirit and soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. He who calls you is faithful; he will surely do it."

-1 Thessalonians 5:23-24
